Program Director: The Program Director is a skating professional hired by the Board of Directors to design and administer the Club’s skating programs. The Program Director must be a member in good standing of the SCLP and be in full compliance with the USFS Coaches Registration Policy. The Director shall conduct her/himself in a professional manner and in compliance with the rules and policies of the SCLP, USFS and the PSA including the USFS Policy Statement on Harassment and Abuse, Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.

Article II  -  Program Director

a. Responsibilities

The Program Director is engaged to design and administer skating programs which best meet the needs of all skating members of the SCLP. The responsibilities of the Program Director shall include, but not be limited to: assigning skating Club coaches to teach group lessons and supervising those coaches to assure expectations per Coaches Agreement are met;  conducting and/or overseeing all group lesson sign-up and registration activities; initially evaluating all skaters and placing them in groups according to their ability; educating parents to include scheduling and leading meetings for parents of group lesson students; establishing and maintaining all necessary schedules and records; marketing and promoting all SCLP skating programs with special emphasis on LTS/Basics program; assuring good communication between and among coaching staff, parents, Club officers/directors, and ORDA reps;  attending Board meetings and reporting to the Board regarding the skating program; and performing other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.


The Program Director is expected to be in attendance at least 15 minutes before the group ice sessions begin and to be in attendance at all Club group lesson ice sessions unless other arrangements have been made with the approval of the Club President or chairperson of the Coaches Committee.

The Program Director is considered to be a SCLP Club Coach and as such is subject to Club Coach  requirements, when not fulfilling Program Director duties as outlined above.
